Sally Hill is the Assistant Secretary of Legislation at the Department of Home Affairs, where her branch is responsible for managing the department's legislation program, including designing approaches with policy and program areas, engagement with the Office of Parliamentary Counsel and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C), and in-house drafting of non-tied instruments.

Sally previously held roles in policy, legislative design and legal matters with the then Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, PM&C, the Commonwealth Treasury, and the Attorney-General's Department. Sally started her legal career at Ashurst (then Blake Dawson) and Minter Ellison where she worked on large infrastructure and property deals, and environmental and native title matters, before moving to government.
